The fearsome ‘KGF’ trio of Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Faf Du Plessis’ photos in the new RCB colors of red, blue, and gold are going all around social media, with their official website and app crashing right before their Unbox event. With a change of name, crest, and colors for the new campaign, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s men’s team will be hoping to replicate what their women’s team did this year.

As the title drought of 16 years was ended by Smriti Mandhana and co. in the WPL for RCB earlier this week, the party for the franchise didn’t end there. With the new season of IPL just around the corner, RCB had their Unbox event at their home ground M Chinnaswamy on Tuesday. The new jersey along with the change in name was unveiled by Captain Faf Du Plessis, star player Virat Kohli, and women’s Captain Smriti Mandhana. The annual event takes place every year before the tournament where they unveil their jerseys along with other things.
The Women’s team were given a guard of honor for their title in the Women’s Premier League. Former RCB and Indian pacer R Vinay Kumar was also inducted into RCB’s Hall of Fame at the event. Vinay Kumar joined the elite list of Hall of Fame inductees alongside AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle; he is also the third-highest wicket-taker for the franchise. The evening was filled with entertaining music and performances from artists like Alan Walker, Neeti Mohan, Raghu Dixit, and several others.
Along with the new look off the pitch, they also have quite a few new additions on the pitch in the form of new coach Andy Flower and exciting new signing Cameron Green, who they got for 17.5 crore from the Mumbai Indians. Kiwi pacers Lockie Ferguson and Alzarri Joseph are also among the ranks.
RCB will play defending champion CSK in the opening match of IPL 2024 on Friday at Chepauk. They will play their first home game on March 25 against Punjab Kings.
