The BCCI has already released the first week’s 21 IPL matches schedule for all 10 IPL teams including CSK, MI, GT, PBKS, SRH, DC, RCB, RR, and LSG.

The IPL 2025 Points Table shows the IPL standings and team rankings in the IPL tournament. Like every year, the IPL points 2025 table has all the number of matches played, won, and lost by a team, their overall points, and their net-run rate. Each team will get points for winning the matches in the IPL tournament.

The rules for the IPL 2025 Points Table are as follows-

    • Two points for winning the match
    • One point for both teams in case No result or abandoning the match due to weather or any other reasons.
    • Zero points for losing the match.

All these 10 IPL teams will play 14 league matches to qualify for the playoffs. Out of these 14 IPL matches, each team will play one match against four teams and later twice against five teams during the league matches in the tournament.

After finishing league matches only the top four teams in the points table will qualify for the Playoff round in the second stage of the IPL tournament. Before the Playoff, the top two teams fight for an extra chance to get a ticket to the finale.

On the other end, the 3rd and 4th team plays an eliminator round to qualify for the second qualifier match where the winner will face one of the two teams who lost the Qualifier 1 round.

But what if two teams have similar points in the IPL points table at the end of league matches in 2025?

In that case, the results will be announced based on the NRR (Net-Run-Rate) in the Points table. A higher NRR means higher chances to qualify for the IPL 2025. NRR or the Net Run Rate is the difference between the run rate achieved by any team and the run rate conceded

What is NRR in the IPL 2025?

The NRR of a team is calculated as the difference between ‘the number of runs scored by the team to the number of overs faced’ to ‘the number of runs conceded by the team to the number of overs bowled’ in the same tournament.
