Virat Kohli Early Life and Career
Virat Kohli was born in Punjabi Hindu family in Delhi on 5th November 1988 to a criminal lawyer Prem Kohli and his wife Saroj Kohli. He is the youngest of the three siblings with the elder brother Vikas and older sister Bhawna. Virat started playing cricket at the age of three years and used to ask his father to bowl to him. His family used to live in Uttam Nagar where he attended Vishal Bharti Public School.
In 1998, Kohli met his coach Rajkumar Sharma who was impressed by his accuracy and timing. His father Prem Kohli decided to enroll him in a professional cricket academy and that’s where his cricketing journey began. Even after not getting selected in Delhi Under-14 team due to extraneous factors, Kohli worked hard again and found his place in Delhi Under-15 team.
Virat Kohli made his List A debut for Delhi on 18th February 2006 in a Ranji One-Day Trophy match against Services. His Ranji Trophy debut came on 23rd November 2006 against Tamil Nadu where he was playing with Gautam Gambhir and Shikhar Dhawan in the team.
