The 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is around the corner. The tournament will kickstart on 22nd March with a match between the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The tournament is going to be a big one due to so many reasons and the fans are enthralled to support their favourite team for the next six months. 

Currently, the BCCI has released the schedule only for the first 21 matches in IPL 2024 from March 22nd to April 7th. The rest of the schedule  is expected to be out soon as 2024 General Elections dates have already been announced.

According to the given schedule, first 21 matches of IPL 2024 will be played across 10 cities in India. Now, 10 different cities means 10 different stadiums with different pitch conditions. Some stadiums have batting friendly surfaces like M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. On the other hand, some surfaces are suitable for the spinners like M.A. Chidambaram Stadium and the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow Supergiants. 

Each stadium have different nature, however, the surface of the pitch can also change according to the time and changing weather. The pitch offering good bounce and pace is mostly favorable for the batters, where the ball comes perfectly to the bat and helps in putting up a big total. On the other hand, on some pitches, the ball comes slow to the bat which benefit the spin bowlers and makes it difficult for the batters to score quick runs.
