1. James Faulkner
The Australian all-rounder achieved a 5-wicket haul two times in the toughest T20 league. On April 27, 2013, the left arm medium fast bowler claimed 5 wickets for the first time against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. In the first inning, Faulkner bowled four overs, conceded only 20 runs, and got five batters out. In that match, Faulkner dismissed Shikhar Dhawan, Kumar Sangakkara, Karan Sharma, Darren Sammy, and Amit Mishra. Rajasthan Royals won the match, and James Faulkner got the player of the match award.
In the same season of the 2013 Indian Premier League, Faulkner took a 5-wicket haul for the second time. On May 17, 2013, against the same opponent, Sunrisers Hyderabad, at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, Faulkner achieved this record. The Aussie all-rounder gets wickets of Parthiv Patel, Shikhar Dhawan, Biplab Samantray, Darren Sammy, and Dale Steyn. Unfortunately, the Rajasthan Royals lost that match in the chase.
2. Jaydev Unadkat
A left-arm medium pacer from Saurashtra took five wickets two times in the Indian Premier League. Unadkat achieved his first five wickets in an innings in the league playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Delhi Daredevils on May 10, 2013. Unadkat gave an impactful performance by getting wickets from star batters like Mahela Jayawardene, Virender Sehwag, Unmukt Chand, Kedar Jadav, and Morne Morkel. Unadkat conceded only 25 runs in his four overs, got five crucial wickets, and was named player of the match.
This second time Jaydev Unadkat registered his name in the 5-wicket haul record book against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Unadkat wore the Rising Pune Supergiant jersey and bowled an outstanding spell. In that spell, Unadkat bowled a maiden over in a low-scoring game, conceded 30 runs in his four overs, and took five important wickets from SRH batters. 3. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Swing King from Sunrisers Hyderabad achieved a 5-wicket haul twice in the Indian Premier League. The first one was on April 17, 2017, against Kings XI Punjab at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Bhuvneshwar Kumar produced a high-class bowling effort in the second innings of the match. Bhuvneshwar took wickets of Hashim Amla, Glenn Maxwell, Mohit Sharma, KC Cariappa, and Manan Vohra. Bhuvi just gave up 19 runs in that match, registered 5 wickets, and won the player of the match for his performance.
On May 15, 2023, at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, the right-arm swing bowler achieved his second five-wicket haul in the IPL.
