The ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is going to start on June 2. The 9th edition of the tournament will be hosted jointly by the West Indies and the United States. After 17 years, India has a chance to win a second T20 World Cup.
India lost in the final of the 2014 ICC men’s T20 World Cup against Sri Lanka. In the last ICC men’s T20 World Cup, in the semi-finals India was defeated by England. India is looking forward to breaking this knockout hurdle and winning the ICC men’s T20 World Cup this year. India will start their campaign on June 5 against Ireland.
The final date for the submission of teams for the ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is May 1, 2024. The BCCI may announce a squad in the last week of this month for the upcoming T20 World Cup. It’s been a very difficult task for the selectors to select the final 15-member squad for the ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2024. It will be very interesting to see which player gets a chance in the final 15-man squad and which player will miss out.

Rohit registered 9 fifty in T20 wc and his highest score in T20 WC is unbeaten 79.
In the ongoing Indian Premier League season, Rohit Sharma has scored 118 runs in four innings. Rohit batted with a strike rate of 171.09, and his highest score from four innings is 49. Rohit Sharma’s hard-hitting ability and high strike rate at the start of the innings will play a crucial role for India in the upcoming ICC men’s T20 World Cup.
2. Hardik Pandya

5. Yashasvi Jaiswal/Shubman Gill
The two young rising stars of Indian cricket perform really well throughout their careers, but there will be only one spot for these two batters. Yashasvi Jaiswal played 17 T20 international matches, and from that in 16 innings, he made 502 runs with an average of 33.46 and a strike rate of 161.93. In this initial phase of T20I’s Gill has already registered one century and one half centuries. In the Indian Premier League, Gill scored 2973 runs with an average of 38.12 and a strike rate of 134.83 from 93 innings. Gill registered 3 centuries and 19 half centuries in the Indian Premier League.

6. Shivam Dube
The way Shivam Dube is playing in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League and his performance in the past few months at domestic cricket will get his name in the final squad of the Indian team for the ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Dube scored 176 runs with a strike rate of 160.00 in five innings of the ongoing Indian Premier League season. Dube registered one fifty-plus score and smashed 13 sixes in just five innings of the IPL 2024 season.

7. Rinku Singh

Rahul registered 2 centuries and 22 half centuries in T20 International and 4 hundreds and 34 fifty plus scores in the Indian Premier League.
Sanju Samson in the Indian Premier League scored 4066 runs in 152 innings with an average of 29.9 and a strike rate of 137.74. Samson registered three hundred and twenty-fifties in the IPL. In the T20 international, Samson has played 22 innings and scored 374 runs with an average of 18.7 and a strike rate of 133.1.
It will be very interesting to see among those two who will get a chance as a backup wicketkeeper batter for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA. In the current IPL season, KL Rahul scored 126 runs in four innings with a strike rate of 128.57 and registered one half century. Sanju Samson scored 178 runs in four innings with a strike rate of 150.85 and registered two half centuries.
10. Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja is an obvious choice for the selectors for the all-rounder spot in the upcoming ICC men’s T20 World Cup. Jadeja, with his accurate left arm offspin and very handy with bat at the lower order and also a gun filder, will tick all the boxes of an all-rounder player. Jadeja took 53 wickets from 64 innings in T20 International and scored 480 runs from 36 innings with a strike rate of 125.33 at the lower order. In the ongoing IPL season, Jadeja took 4 wickets from 5 innings and also contributed with the bat.
11. Kuldeep Yadav
A left-arm Chinaman will be the preferred choice as a spin bowler for the Indian T20 World Cup 2024 squad. Kuldeep has been phenomenal for the past few years in international cricket and also in the IPL. In T20 International, Kuldeep took 59 wickets from just 34 innings with an average of 14.10 and an economy of 6.74. The best figure for Kuldeep in T20I’s is 5 wickets from 17 runs. In the Indian Premier League, Kuldeep has till now bowled in 73 innings and taken 74 wickets with an economy of 8.11.
Kuldeep Yadav can be a go-to spinner for Rohit Sharma in the upcoming ICC men’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA.
12. Ravi Bishnoi /Yuzvendra Chahal
There will be one spot for the third spinner in the India T20 World Cup squad. Two-leg spinners will be the top contenders for this spot. Ravi Bishnoi has been part of the Indian T20 team for the past few months and has performed well. Bishnoi is currently at number 5 in the ICC T20I’s bowling ranking. Bishnoi played 24 matches for India in T20I’s and took 36 wickets with an average of 19.53 and a strike rate of 15.62. Bishnoi has bowled with an economy of 7.51 in T20 international matches.
Yuzvendra Chahal has been outstanding for India in the T20 international matches, but he played his last T20 international match in August 2023. In T20I, Chahal took 96 wickets with an economy of 8.19 and a strike rate of 18.3.
It will be a very difficult task for selectors to pick one of these two leg spinners. Yuzvendra Chahal took eight wickets in four innings of the IPL 2024. Chahal bowled with an economy of 6.36 in the ongoing IPL season. Bishnoi took 2 wickets from 4 innings of the ongoing IPL season and bowled with an economy of 8.67. It will be a very disappointing one for the one who does not get selected for the World Cup squad after performing well.
13. Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah will lead the pace bowling attack of India in the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup. Bumrah has been outstanding in every format of the game for India. Bumrah played 62 T20 international matches and took 74 wickets with an economy of 6.56. Bumrah can take wickets in the powerplay and middle overs and be exceptional at the death overs. Bumrah will be the Trump Card of the Indian bowling line-up in the upcoming T20 World Cup matches.
14. Arshdeep Singh
The left-arm fast bowler has been part of the Indian T20 team and is doing well with the new ball and especially with the old ball. 15. Mayank Yadav

Mayank Yadav has been outstanding in the ongoing Indian Premier League season, taking 6 wickets from 3 matches with an economy of 6.00. Mayank won back-to-back player of the match awards in his initial IPL career. Mayank played 13 T20 matches and, in 12 innings took 18 wickets with an economy rate of 6.34.
A new pace bowling sensation with his speed and accuracy might get a chance in the Indian squad for the upcoming ICC men’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA.

Among the two batters, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubham Gill, one who will not get into the final squad, will be on the standby list.
