Alzarri Joseph achieved this phenomenon in the 2019 IPL season when he took 6 wickets in 3.4 overs for Mumbai Indians against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Alzarri broke 11-year record of Sohail Tanvir.
Sohail Tanvir took 6 wickets and gave only 4 runs, which is also the second best bowling figure in the IPL. In the 2008 IPL’s inception, Sohail Tanvir had registered 6/14 for the Rajasthan Royals against Chennai Super Kings. For years, Sohail Tanvir’s 6 wicket-haul in 4 overs was the IPL’s best bowling figure.
The third best bowling figure is Adam Zampa 6/19 in 4 overs for Rising Pune Super Giants against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2016 IPL season.
