On Sunday MI vs CSK, Ruturaj Gaikwad becomes the fastest Indian to score 2000 runs in IPL history. Chennai Super Kings skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad set this milestone in just 57 IPL career innings.
27, Ruturaj Gaikwad achieved this massive feat against Mumbai Indians during his 69 runs knocks at the Wankhede Stadium. It is one of the most phenomenal innings of Gaikwad who bagged 69 runs off 40 balls with an impressive strike rate of 172.50. CSK’s new skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad also slammed five 4s and five 6s.
He also surpassed Sachin Tendulkar (63 innings) and KL Rahul (60 innings) while achieving the fastest 2000 IPL runs by the Indian player. For now, Ruturaj is in the third spot for the fastest player to reach the 2000 runs milestone after Chris Gayle (48 innings) and Shaun Marsh (52 innings) in the IPL.

Undoubtedly, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad is the new emerging IPL prince on the horizon. To this date, Ruturaj Gaikwad has played 58 IPL matches and scored 2021 with an amazing average rate of 39.62 and a strike rate of 134.91. He has amassed one century and 16 half-centuries with an unbeaten 101-run highest score in his 57 IPL innings.
With a hefty contribution of Ruturaj Gaikwad (69) and Shivam Dube (66), Chennai Super Kings scored a massive target of 207 for Mumbai Indians. MI lost by 20 runs despite Rohit Sharma’s huge century of 105-run just 63 balls including eleven 4s and five 6s in home ground Mumbai.
In the next IPL 2024 fixture, Ruturaj will lead the CSK against LSG on the 19th of April at BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
