1. Chris Gayle
Christopher Henry Gayle completed 2000 runs in just 48 innings to top the list of the fastest run-scorer batters to complete 2000 runs in the Indian Premier League. The left-handed destructive batter achieved this milestone on April 16, 2013 against Delhi at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. Gayle scored 13 runs from nine balls in that game, with two maximums. Royal Challengers Bangalore won that match in the super over.
Chris Gayle only took 21 innings to move 1000 runs to the 2000-run landmark; it’s the same amount of innings that Shaun Marsh took to complete the fastest 1000 runs in the Indian Premier League.
2. Shaun Marsh
The fastest 1000-run scorer in terms of innings played by batter is in second place to score 2000 runs by innings played. Shaun Marsh scored 2000 runs in just 52 innings in the IPL. The Australian left-handed batter reached this landmark at Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad, on April 21, 2015. Marsh scored 65 runs on 45 balls with five boundaries and three sixes. Later on, Kings XI Punjab won the match in a super over.

3. KL Rahul
KL Rahul became the fastest Indian batter to score 2000 runs in the Indian Premier League. Rahul got this record at the Dubai International Stadium playing against Royal Challengers Bangalore on September 24, 2020. KL Rahul scored a magnificent century in 69 balls with 14 fours and 7 sixes and led his team to a comfortable win. Right-handed classical batter completed 2000 runs in just 60 innings.
4. Sachin Tendulkar
God of cricket Sachin Tendulkar is in the 4th position on the current fastest 2000 runs batters list. Sachin Tendulkar batted 63 times for the Mumbai Indians to achieve this achievement. On May 20, 2012, playing against the Rajasthan Royals in the second innings, Tendulkar made an unbeaten 58 from 51 balls, led his team to a 10 wicket big win, and also registered 2000 runs in the IPL.
5. Shane Watson
The Australian sensation all-rounder completed 2000 runs in the Indian Premier League in 64 innings. Watson, playing against the Chennai Super Kings on May 13th, 2014, at Ranchi, scored 36 balls and 51 runs with 3 fours and 4 sixes, achieving this landmark. Unfortunately, this innings came in a losing cause, and the Rajasthan Royals lost the match against CSK.
6. Rishabh Pant
A left-handed attacking Indian wicketkeeper announced his name in the bigger stage of the IPL with a bang. Rishabh Pant achieved a 2000-run figure in just 64 IPL innings. Playing for the Delhi Capitals against the Mumbai Indians at Dubai International Stadium on October 31, 2020, Pant completed 2000 runs from his bat in the IPL. Pant scored 21 runs in that game later on Mumbai Indians won that match by nine wickets.
7. Jos Buttler
The English wicketkeeper batter and white ball captain completed 2000 runs in 65 innings. Jos Buttler earlier played for the Mumbai Indians and currently with the Rajasthan Royals. Playing for Rajasthan Royals on March 28, 2022, against Sunrisers Hyderabad Buttler managed to score 35 runs on 28 balls with three sixes and three boundaries. Buttler completed 2000 runs in that match, and the Rajasthan Royals won by 61 runs.
8. Faf du plessis
The South African former captain took 67 innings to complete 2000 runs in the Indian Premier League. Faf du Plessis reached the landmark on September 25, 2020, playing against the Delhi Capitals in Dubai. Faf was wearing a Chennai Super Kings jersey at the time and scored 43 from 35 balls with three boundaries. DC won that game by 44 runs against CSK. Notably, Faf du Plessis is currently leading Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.
9. Kane Williamson
Classical Kane also took 67 innings to score 2000 runs and is currently in the 9th position on the list of the fastest 2000 runs in the IPL. Kane Williamson crossed 2000 runs in the IPL while playing for SRH against the Kolkata Knight Riders on April 15, 2022, at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. With three boundaries, Williamson scored 17 from 16 balls. SRH won that match by 7 wickets.
10. Gautam Gambhir
Former Indian Premier League winning team captain and currently mentor of an IPL franchise, Gautam Gambhir achieved 2000 runs in 2012. Gambhir took 68 innings to complete 2000 runs in the IPL. At Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, playing for Kolkata Knight Riders, Gambhir led his team to a 32-run win against Mumbai Indians on May 16, 2012. Gambhir scored 27 runs from 23 balls with three fours and one maximum and achieved this 2000-run milestone.
