DC vs MI Head to Head in Arun Jaitley Stadium: Delhi Capitals (DC) are set to take on five Mumbai Indians (MI) in match number 43 of IPL 2024 at Arun Jaitley Stadium on 27th April. In the previous outing between both teams this year at Wankhede Stadium, the hosts MI defeated DC by 29 runs to get their first win of the season. Now, DC will be looking to settle scores with MI and make their chances stronger for the race of the top four.
In their last four games, DC registered convincing victories against Lucknow Supergiants and Gujarat Titans (GT) in front of their home crowd in Lucknow and Ahmedabad respectively. However, they couldn’t continue their winning momentum at their home ground as they conceded 266 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Arun Jaitley Stadium losing the game by 67 runs. DC didn’t have much time to get back on the winning track as recently defeated GT by just 4 runs in another high-scoring thriller in Delhi. They have now jumped to sixth spot in the points table with four wins in nine matches so far.
Talking about MI, they couldn’t continue their winning run as they are coming after a nine-wicket loss against Rajasthan Royals. Batting first, MI were looking set to post a total near 190-200 runs. But they couldn’t accelerate the innings in death overs and end up putting 179/9 on board with Sandeep Sharma destroying the MI batting line up with the match-winning figures of 5/18. After that, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s hundred took the game away from MI as RR chased the winning total 18.4 overs losing just one wicket. MI are now standing at eighth position in the points table winning three out of eight matches played so far. Now, the five-time champions will be looking to get a big win against DC and keep their hopes alive for the playoffs.

Key Players from both teams
DC- X Factors
The biggest positive for DC this year is the form of the skipper Rishabh Pant a year after surviving a fatal car accident. The wicket-keeper batter has now jumped to the third spot in the list of top run getters of the season amassing 342 runs from nine matches with a strike rate of 161.32. In the last match against GT in Delhi, Pant smashed 88 runs off just 43 balls, out of which he smashed 31 runs in the final over itself with four sixes and a one four. Along with him, Jake Fraser-McGurk and Tristan Stubbs have also impressed with their power-hitting abilities this season, while Axar Patel also proved to be a pivotal batter as he scored 66 runs off 43 balls after getting promoted to number 3. The bowling line up of DC hasn’t been effective in the last two matches, but spinners like Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav have the ability to take big wickets at crucial moments.
MI- X Factors
For MI, their top three batters including Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav haven’t been able to score consistently this year. However, Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera seemed to get their form back with a 99-run partnership against Rajasthan Royals in the last match. In the bowling line up, MI are mostly dependent on Jasprit Bumrah and Gerald Coetzee. The main concern for MI this year is the form of their skipper Hardik Pandya, who haven’t been able to accelerate the innings in death overs and take crucial wickets with a ball in hand
