In a move that’s set to ignite the spirits of cricket fans across India and beyond, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has declared that a new batch of tickets for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 will be up for grabs starting Tuesday, 19 March. This latest release includes tickets to high-demand matches that were previously sold out, including the much-anticipated semi-finals, alongside exclusive hospitality packages that promise an unforgettable cricket-watching experience.
Scheduled to unfold in the picturesque cricket grounds of the West Indies and the United States, the upcoming T20 World Cup is shaping up to be an unparalleled celebration of cricket, featuring 20 teams and 55 matches across nine spectacular venues. Until now, tickets for 37 matches were available for purchase. However, with the release of tickets for an additional 13 matches, fans will now have the opportunity to secure their spot at 51 out of the 55 matches, including the semi-final showdowns in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana, respectively.
The ticket sales will commence at 10 am AST/2:00 pm GMT on the official platform, tickets.t20worldcup.com. In a bid to make the matches accessible to a wider audience, ticket prices have been thoughtfully set, starting from as low as US$6 for selected games in the Caribbean, while fans looking to catch the action in the USA can find tickets starting from US$35.
The additional matches being opened for ticket sales are distributed across seven venues, featuring high-voltage encounters such as Pakistan versus Ireland at Broward County Stadium, Lauderhill, and a face-off between India and Ireland at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York, among others. This expansion is a testament to the ICC’s commitment to making the tournament as inclusive and accessible as possible, catering to the overwhelming demand witnessed during the initial ticket ballot, which saw over 3 million applications.
Chris Tetley, the ICC Head of Events, expressed his delight at being able to accommodate the massive interest in the tournament. “We are thrilled to release additional tickets for 51 matches, ensuring that as many fans as possible have the opportunity to experience the excitement of the T20 World Cup in person. This has been made possible thanks to our commercial partners, and we look forward to welcoming fans from around the world to this celebration of cricket.”
In addition to the public tickets, fans looking for a more luxurious experience can look forward to premium hospitality packages, which include access to private suites and bespoke food and beverage options across selected venues. These packages will be available for purchase at www.icctravelandtours.com, offering a unique way to enjoy the cricket spectacle.
