T20 World Cup 2024: T20 World Cup brand Ambassador Usain Bolt launched Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, the first-ever USA cricket Stadium for the ICC’s marquee event.
With 34,000 seating capacity, Nassau will host a high-octane cricket match of IND vs PAK on 9th June. Usain Bolt became the first person who get the first look at this iconic stadium.
On Wednesday, two weeks before the T20 World Cup, legendary athlete Usain Bolt launched New York’s Nassau County Stadium joined by multiple sports. The Nassau Cricket Stadium launch was sports star-studded including USA cricketers Corey Anderson and Monank Patel, legend Sir Curtly Ambrose (West Indies), Shoaib Malik (Pakistan), and Liam Plunkett (England).

Other prominent sports celebrities like John Starks (NBA / New York Knicks), Elena Delle Donne (WNBA/USA), Bartolo Colon (MLB/New York Yankees-Mets), Victor Cruz (NFL/New York Giants), and Ibtihaj Muhammad (Fencing/USA) also appeared to celebrate the launch.
To enshrine the launch every sports person signed the giant cricket bat including Usain Bolt. On the occasion, Usain expressed his thoughts on the brand-new venue and said,
“Coming from the Caribbean where cricket is a part of life, I’m very excited to be part of the T20 World Cup coming to the USA for the first time, co-hosting with the West Indies…”
Bolt continued, “The new stadium is going to be a fantastic place to watch from. It’s very enclosed and you feel very close to the action. I can imagine it will be full of energy when cricket fans get to Nassau County International Stadium next month.”
The Nassau Cricket Stadium will host its first ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 match 4 between Sri Lanka and South Africa on 3rd June.
