Rajasthan Royals handed a five wicket defeat by Punjab Kings at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday. As social media reacts to it in a hilarious way.
After opting to bat first, Rajasthan managed to reach a total of 144 runs at a loss of nine wickets. Riyan Parag scoring 48 off 34 balls was their batting highlight.
PBKS Skipper Sam Curran bagged a couple of wickets alongside Harshal Patel and Rahul Chahar. With the bat Curran’s crucial knock of unbeaten 63 runs secured PBKS their fifth victory of their campaign.
“We bowled really well as a group. The only message was to play for pride. Ellis was absolutely amazing coming into his first game of the season, should have played him earlier (laughs). When I went in, Jonny said it was really tough. It was holding a bit, when Jitesh came in we decided to play it around. With a ground like this, we knew it was getting a couple of sixes.” said Curran during the post match presentation.
Fans as usual took over social media and expressed their views on this match with funny memes on X and Instagram.

Despite losing four consecutive games Rajasthan Royals managed to qualify for this year’s playoffs. Thanks to their excellent start to the season with eight wins from nine games helping them to secure their spot.
As the business end of the campaign approaches the team will be frustrated with their lack of form recently. Meanwhile, their first choice opening batsman Jos Buttler’s absence was felt as they failed to provide an explosive start to their innings. Butler left the Royals’ camp to join England’s camp for the preparation of the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Rajasthan will play their last match against table toppers Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab will face Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday, May 19.
