NBA All-Star selections Latrell Sprewell started to play competitively in his high school team Raiders Basketball Team from 1988 to 1990. Later he transferred to the University of Alabama where he was teammates with future NBA players including Robert Horry, Jason Caffey, James Robinson, and Marcus Webb. 

In the 1992 NBA Draft, Latrell Sprewell was picked up by the  Golden State Warriors as a 24th overall pick in the first round. In a few years, Sprewell was nicknamed Spree and leveled up his performance from 1994 to 1997. He led the Warriors in the Western Conference All-Star team.
