IPL 2024, RCB vs SRH Awards: Travis Head Player Of The Match as SRH Victory Over RCB by 25 runs

Once again Sunrisers Hyderabad posted the highest-ever IPL score against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and broke their own previous record against Mumbai Indians. 

On Monday 15th April, in IPL 2024 RCB vs SRH Match 30: Sunrisers Hyderabad recorded IPL’s highest team total of 287/3 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and clinched their fourth victory in M Chinnaswamy Stadium.  

RCB skipper Faf du Plessis won the toss and decided to go with bowl first. SRH star openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head, both contributed a 100-run partnership. Until Reece Topley had his first wicket for RCB and dismissed Abhishek Sharma. However, Travis remained unstoppable and recorded his T20 career-best innings of 102 runs off 41 balls performance. 

After Head, Klassen took matters into his own hands and posted 67 of 31 balls and Aiden Markram scored 32 in 17 balls. When Ferguson scalped his 2nd wicket and dismissed Klassen, everyone thought that SRH’s reign was over. But Abdul Samad rained his fury on RCB’s bowlers, showed no mercy and bagged 37 in just 10 balls including four 4s and three 6s. And that’s how SRH posted a mammoth target of 287/3 highest team total against RCB in IPL history breaking their last record of 277. 

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru also gave a tough competition and at one point everyone thought the RCB losing streak was going to end. RCB opener Virat Kohli scored 42 in just 20 balls, and Faf du Plessis completed his half-century of 62 in 28 balls. At no. 6, Dinesh Kartik showed his amazing batting power and contributed 85 in just 35 balls. But it wasn’t enough as DK didn’t get much from Mahipal Lormor (19 off 11 balls). RCB only managed to score 262 for 7 wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by 25 runs.

RCB vs SRH Player of the Match went to Travis Head, for his stellar 102 runs off 41 balls innings. Head was a true star showman who built the foundation for SRH to post the highest team total in IPL history. Head received the RCB vs SRH post-match highest regard, Man of the Match for his 102-off 41 balls with a strike rate of 248.78.

SRH Abdul Samad received a Punch.EV Electric Striker of the Match award for his electrifying performance in the RCB vs SRH. Abdul Samad bagged 37 off in just ten balls with a 370.00 strike rate at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
