The Calgary Flames welcomed their new member Andrei Kuzmenko on social media.
After Wednesday’s blockbuster deal with the Canucks, the Flames are all fired up to have a Russian winger on the board. On Friday, the Flames posted on their official account X (formerly known as Twitter) a picture of Andrei in Cal’s red uniform.
The caption said, “Red looks good on you, Kuzy.”
Per the Calgary Herald’s report, the Cal Flames head coach Ryan Huska and the team have high hopes for Andrei Kuzmenko. Head coach Ryan Huska praised Kuzmenko and said,
“He most definitely has offensive ability,”
He continued,
“One thing we like about him is he’s very strong on pucks and he’s able to do a job of holding people off once he has that puck…”
On the other hand, former Canucks forward Andrei Kuzmenko was vacationing in Mexico during the trade between Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames. Kuzmenko also shared his excitement to join the Flames ASAP.
27-year-old forward Andreis said,
“I’m excited to come to Calgary and join the Flames,”
Kuzmenko continued,
“It’s a great opportunity for me to come to a new team, a new city, and contribute to the offence.”
In the mega deal with Vancouver Canucks, the Calgary Flames acquired forward Andrei Kuzmenko, and defencemen Hunter Brzustewicz and Joni Jurmo from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Elias Lindholm.
The Flames also got two picks one Vancouver’s first-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, and a conditional fourth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.
Andrei Kuzmenko will likely get a chance to join his new franchise in Boston for a four-game road trip.
