The captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for the IPL 2024 season is Pat Cummins. Pat Cummins, the Australian World Cup-winning captain, was announced as the new skipper for SRH in March 2024, replacing Aiden Markram.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) had a forgettable season in IPL 2023 as they finished last at the points table with four wins from 14 games. Now, SRH will be looking to perform better in IPL 2024 and become champions for the second time. South Africa batter Aiden Markram will continue his role as the skipper in the upcoming season.
Markram was appointed as the captain of SRH for IPL 2023 after he led Sunrisers Eastern Cape to the title in the inaugural season of the South Africa T20 League (SA20) in 2023, but he couldn’t repeat the same for SRH in the IPL, as they failed to make it into the playoffs despite having a strong squad. Despite this, Markram is likely to continue as the SRH skipper in the upcoming season.
SRH Captains List From 2008 to 2024
Playing their maiden IPL season in 2013, SRH have won the IPL title only once in 2016 under the captaincy of David Warner, while they finished as the runners-up in 2018 with Kane Williamson as the skipper.

SRH have changed many captains in the last 10 years with David Warner having the longest stint from 2015 to 2021 before the franchise released him ahead of IPL 2022. He led SRH to the title in 2016 where they defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final. After that, they made it into the final in 2018 when Kane Williamson took charge in Warner’s absence. Williamson led SRH to the final in his first outing as the captain of the side. Apart from them, Cameron White, Kumar Sangakkara, Shikhar Dhawan, Daren Sammy, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Manish Pandey have also led SRH on multiple occasions.
