The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League is underway, and all the big names in the world are in action in the ongoing season. This tournament will conclude a week before the start of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in USA and West Indies. Hence, for Team India, this will be an important season to find out the best players for the mega event.Meanwhile, one name that will be very important for India is Suryakumar Yadav. The Indian star has been out of action for the last few months due to injury. In February, he underwent surgery for a sports hernia and was completing his rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. However, there is good news for the fans.
IPL 2024: Suryakumar Yadav is likely to return to action soon
The 33-year-old didn’t even take part in the ongoing IPL 2024. That is one of the reasons that the five-time champion Mumbai Indians couldn’t get going in the tournament so far. Because SKY was their best batter last season. MI had lost all three games so far. But now there is great news coming up for MI fans.
Suryakumar Yadav has gotten a green signal from the NCA as he has been declared fit to come onto the field. A BCCI told PTI that SKY is fit and has also featured in a few practice games. The statement confirmed, “He is fit now. The NCA made him play a few practice games, and he looked good. He can join the Mumbai Indians team. We wanted to be sure that when Surya goes back to MI, he is 100 percent fit and ready to play games.” The star batter also gave hint on a story he shared on his Instagram handle.
Though it is not yet clear when he will return, but it is more likely that he will play the match on Sunday and will be in action at Wankhede Stadium. It will be a massive boost for MI who is searching for their maiden win in the IPL 2024. Mumbai will face Delhi Capitals in their next match on Sunday.
