1. Yashasvi Jaiswal
A talented and free-flowing left-handed batter plays for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League and is known for his blasting starts in powerplay overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal tops the list of players with the players with the highest strike rate in the powerplay overs at the IPL. Till now, Jaiswal has faced 549 balls in the powerplay and scored 832 runs with a strike rate of 151.54. Jaiswal, in 44 innings in the powerplay overs, smashed 121 fours and 30 sixes for the Rajasthan Royals. Notably, Jaiswal scored the fastest half century in the IPL in just 13 balls.
2. Jonny Bairstow
The English right-handed wicketkeeper batter scored with the second highest strike rate in the toughest T20 league. Jonny Bairstow has played 41 innings in powerplay overs and scored 742 runs from 503 balls with a strike of 147.51. Bairstow tries to attack bowlers in the initial phase of innings and tries to utilize the field restriction. During the powerplay overs, Bairstow has already smashed 31 maximums and 91 fours. In this year’s IPL season, Bairstow did not look in good touch, but a player of this caliber is just one good inning away from getting back in form.
3. Prithvi Shaw
The ICC Under-19 World Cup-winning captain and current opener of the Delhi Capitals franchise is at number 3 in the highest strike rate during the powerplay overs. Prithvi Shaw has a strike rate of 146.23 in the powerplay phase of the toughest T20 league. Shaw scored 1322 runs from 904 balls with 188 fours and 377 fours in the powerplay overs. Shaw was not part of the playing XI of the Delhi Capitals team in this year’s IPL season initial phase but now plays as an opener for the franchise.
4. Virender Sehwag
One of the most destructive batters in world cricket, Virender Sehwag, played for two franchises in the Indian Premier League. Sehwag retired from the IPL in 2015, but he still has the fourth highest strike rate in powerplay overs. In the powerplay overs, Shewag scored with a strike rate of 143.85. From 103 innings in powerplay, Sehwag smashed 229 fours and 44 maximus and made 1568 runs.
5. Chris Lynn
Australia right-handed batter at number 5 in the highest strike rate during powerplay overs. Chris Lynn, in the toughest T20 league, batted with a strike rate of 143.68. Lynn faced 538 balls during powerplay and registered 773 runs. Lynn scored 99 fours and 33 sixes in the powerplay period at the Indian Premier League. Notably, Lynn played for Deccan Chargers, Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians franchises.
6. Suryakumar Yadav
The current number-one T20 batter is also on this list: Suryakumar Yadav, who has a strike rate of 140.70 in the powerplay overs. SKY till now got a chance to play 565 balls in the powerplay overs and scored 795 runs with 113 fours and 23 sixes. Suryakumar has a phenomenal record in T20 cricket, and his ability to play strokes all over the park has always been an x-factor in the batting line-up.
7. Jos Buttler
Jos Buttler is scoring with a strike rate of 140.24 during the powerplay overs in the Indian Premier League. The English wicketkeeper batter has been a dominant batter in the IPL and has scored 1495 runs in the powerplay overs from 1066 balls. Butter has smashed 192 fours and 61 sixes till now in the powerplay phase. This year’s Buttler has already scored two centuries and is playing with a good strike rate.
8. Rahul Tripathi
The Indian batter scored runs with a strike rate of 138.64 during powerplay overs in the IPL. Rahul Tripathi played 621 balls in the powerplay phase and scored 861 runs with 108 fours and 31 sixes. Rahul Tripathi played for different franchises in the IPL and is currently with Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 2024 season.
9. David Warner
Australia’s star batter has been amazing in the Indian Premier League. David Warner has a strike rate of 138.39 in the powerplay overs, which is the 9th highest in the league. Warner smashed 431 fours and 105 sixes during the powerplay phase of the IPL and has scored 3302 runs till now. Warner has the most runs scored by an overseas batter in the Indian Premier League.
10. Faf du plessis
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper has the 10th highest strike rate during powerplay overs in the Indian Premier League. Faf du Plessis has scored 1884 runs in the powerplay overs till now from 1467 balls. Faf registered 247 fours and 47 sixes from 115 innings in the powerplay overs.
