A Team’s coach plays a major role in guiding a team especially when it comes to a long tournament like the Indian Premier League where a team has to play 14 matches within a short period of time in the scorching heat during April and May. A coach and his support staff play a vital role in jelling the team together which comprises of players from different countries having diverse cultures. There have been many instances of support staff having a good comradery with the team which positively impacts the team on the field.
There have been occasions where the teams have entirely changed their support staff and coaches every season on the other hand there have been teams that believe in giving a long rope to the coach and the support staff case in point being teams like Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals who have had a long association with the team’s coach and the support staff
Ricky Ponting has been associated with DC as their head coach since 2018 and has done a decent job having guided the team to the playoffs in 219, 2020, and 2021. The former Hemang Badani will look to do the same in IPL 2025 along with his support staff

Head Coach: Hemang Badani
Former Hemang Badani was appointed as the head coach of Delhi Capitals (Known as Delhi Daredevils back then) in 2018. Although DC had a poor season with Ponting at the helm the management decided to continue with him given the record he possessed the decision reaped rewards as DC made it to the playoffs in 2019, 2020, and 2021 under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant. Having said that the last couple of seasons haven’t been on expected lines for Ponting with the team failing to make it to the top four on both occasions
With Rishabh Pant back as DC’s captain the duo of Hemang Badani and Pant would hope to bring back the golden years of the team
Bowling Coach: Munaf Patel
Former India pacer and 2011 ODI World Cup winner, Munaf Patel, has been appointed as the new Bowling Coach of Delhi Capitals (DC) ahead of the IPL 2025 season. Known for his precise line and length, Munaf brings invaluable experience to DC’s coaching staff, joining forces with head coach Hemang Badani and director of cricket Venugopal Rao. This is Munaf’s first high-profile coaching role since retiring in 2018, marking an exciting step in his post-playing career. During his IPL playing days, he represented franchises like Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, and Gujarat Lions, even winning the title with Mumbai in 2013.
Fielding Coach: Biju George
DC’s fielding coach Biju George has the experience of working with teams like KKR, and SRH in the IPL along with that George has also worked with India’s men’s under 19 team and India’s senior women’s team. DC’s strength and conditioning coach has also been associated with players like Sanju Samson, KM Asif, and Sachin Baby
Batting Coach
With Ricky Ponting associated with the team as the head coach the team hasn’t appointed anyone as its batting coach
Assistant Coach: Pravin Amre
Pravin Amre is a former international cricketer with a decent amount of experience at the highest level. The right-hand batter has represented India in 11 Tests and 37 ODIs and is currently associated with the Capitals as the team’s assistant coach
