Gujarat Titans (GT) have announced Shubman Gill as their skipper for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024. He will be replacing Hardik Pandya who has been traded to Mumbai Indians ahead of the upcoming season. Pandya was the captain of GT in IPL 2022 and 2023. Under his captaincy, GT emerged as champions in their maiden IPL season in 2022 and finished as the runners-up in 2023.
Now Shubman Gill is set to take over the captaincy for GT in IPL 2024. He finished as the leading run-scorer in IPL 2023 where he amassed 890 runs from 17 matches at an average of 59.33 and a strike rate of 157.80, with three centuries and four half-centuries. It will be interesting to see how he takes up the new role in his IPL career.
