New Zealand T20 World Cup Squad
Ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, New Zealand has announced their best 15 players for the international cricket tournament. The Kiwis become the very first to announce their T20WC 2024 squad.
The 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is the 9th edition since its birth in 2007. For the first time, ICC will organize the T20 World Cup in the United States, co-hosted by the West Indies. The T20WC 2024 is scheduled for 1st June and will last until 29th June. The first 2024 T20 World Cup match of United States vs Canada is set to commence on 2nd June at 6.00 AM.
Other than the change in the host, there is also an expansion in the teams competing in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. There will be 20 teams participating in the T20WC 2024 divided into the two hosts, the top eight teams from the 2022 edition, the next two teams in the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings, and eight teams determined by regional qualifiers. The United States will participate for the first time as a host. Canada and Uganda qualify for the men’s T20 World Cup for the first time.
Blackcaps are the first team to reveal their 15 players plus a reserve player, in total 16 players for the T20 World Cup 2024 tournament. Veteran Skipper Kane Williamson will lead his team in the New World of America. It is the 6th appearance of Kane Williamson and 4th as the captain in the limited-over cricket World Cup Tournament. New Zealand will play their first T20 World Cup 2024 match against Afghanistan in Guyana on June 7 at Providence Stadium in Guyana.
