Indian Squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024
Ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, the BCCI (Board of Control Cricket in India) has announced their best 15 Indian players who will represent Team Blue in the shortest cricket format. The best 15 Indian players team is ready for the T20WC 2024 quest to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy.
The 9th edition of the T20 World Cup will soon commence on 2nd June hosted by the United States and West Indies combined. It will be the first time other than West Indies the ICC World Cup tournament is going to feature in the United States of America. In a highly anticipated ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, there will be 20 teams, an expansion from 16 teams at the 2022 tournament.
The 20 teams will be divided into the two hosts, the top eight teams from the 2022 edition, the next two teams in the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings, and eight teams determined by regional qualifiers. The United States will participate for the first time as a host. Canada and Uganda qualify for the men’s T20 World Cup for the first time.
Amid IPL 2024, BCCI has announced the final Indian Squad for the 2024 T20I World Cup. Team Blue won the inaugural T20 World Cup 2007 under the captaincey of MS Dhoni. Since then, Team India has only reached the 2014 T20 World Cup final against Sri Lanka and failed to repeat history.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma who led the Indian squad successfully in the ICC 2023 World Cup Final is looking forward to clinching the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. In the first match of T20WC 2024, India will lock horns with Ireland scheduled on 5th June at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
