Suresh Raina is called Mr. IPL because of his outstanding performances over the years in IPL. Suresh Raina started his IPL journey with five-time IPL Champion Chennai Super Kings in 2008. 

In 2022, Suresh Raina went unsold in IPL and after that announced his retirement from all the cricket formats. However, Raina was signed by Deccan Gladiators for the Abu Dhabi T10 League in  2022.

Suresh Raina played 205 matches and bagged 5528 runs with an average of 32.51 in his overall IPL career for CSK. Raina achieved a rare feat and became the first batter who scored 3000 runs in IPL. 

Suresh Raina also holds the record for most 100 sixes in IPL and second batter in the world. In Raina’s overall IPL career, Raina hit 203 sixes. 

CSK’s fans called Raina as the “Chinna Thala” (meaning junior commander) for his tremendous contributions in Chennai Super Kings not on in batting but also in bowling. Suresh Raina also has the record of most 171 catches in IPL. 

You can speculate Suresh Raina’s batting power that he’s the only batter in the IPL who scored more than 400 plus score in seven different IPL season.
