Lucknow Supergiants and Kolkata Knight Riders are set to lock horns again in IPL 2024 in match number 54 of the season at Ekana Cricket Stadium on 5th May. Both teams are standing in top three at the points table and the team ending up winning the upcoming match will have higher chances to finish in top 2 at the end of the league stage.
As two of the top teams will face each other in the upcoming IPL 2024, we will see some star players against each other and it is expected to be a thrilling encounter between both teams. Let’s have a look at the top three player battles between LSG and KKR.
LSG vs KKR Player Battles: Must Watch
1. Nicholas Pooran vs Sunil Narine
Nicholas Pooran has been a pivotal player for LSG from the last two seasons and has provided enough strength to the middle-order along with Marcus Stoinis. However, one of the KKR bowlers who can prevent Pooran from scoring quick runs in the middle-overs is Sunil Narine. The LSG batter boasts a strike rate of 158 in the IPL, but it gets reduced to 74.19 against Narine. The KKR spinner has dismissed Pooran twice in the IPL, conceding 23 runs from 31 balls
2. KL Rahul vs Varun Chakravarthy
The next battle is between the LSG skipper KL Rahul and Varun Chakravarthy. The opening batter is a great player of spin, but couldn’t score quick runs against the KKR spinner. Rahul has scored 45 runs in five outings against Chakravarthy with a strike rate of 97.82, while the leg spinner has dismissed him once in the IPL. KKR will be looking to use Chakravarthy in the powerplay to prevent Rahul from scoring quick runs.
3. Andre Russell vs Ravi Bishnoi
Andre Russell has been a massive wicket for KKR who could add 20-25 runs extra in the scoreboard with his fiery power-hitting in death overs. However, if he comes to bat early, he could guide KKR to a massive total. One of the players LSG will look out to get rid of Russell in middle overs will be Ravi Bishnoi. The LSG spinner has faced Russell four times in the IPL, out of which, the KKR star has scored 16 runs against him at a strike rate of 133.33, while Bishnoi has dismissed him once in the cash-rich league. In the upcoming match, either Russell can counter attack Bishnoi, or Bishnoi can dismiss him early.
