Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are set to lock horns against each other in match number 58 of IPL 2024 at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium (HPCA) in Dharamsala on 9th May. PBKS were on a winning run with back-to-back victories, but ended up losing their last game to Chennai Super Kings at the same ground. On the other hand, RCB have been on fire in the second half of the season with three consecutive victories so far. However, both teams are currently in a do-or-die situation and the team losing this match will be officially out of the tournament, but the winning team will not win their remaining games as well to keep their hopes alive for the top four.
As PBKS and RCB will take on each other in Dharamsala, we will get to see face off between some star players from both teams. Let’s have a look at the top three player battles to look out for in the upcoming match.

Shashank Singh has been a surprise element for PBKS this year and has impressed everyone with his fiery batting, especially in death overs. Along with Jonny Bairstow’s hundred, Shashank also played a pivotal role in PBKS’s record 262-run chase against Kolkata Knight Riders by scoring 68 not out off 28 balls. He is a beast while batting in the final few overs of the innings, as the right-hander has a strike rate of 236.73 in death overs in IPL 2024. On the other hand, Mohammed Siraj didn’t have a great time with the ball this year and the RCB pacer has an economy of 9.20 while bowling in death overs in IPL 2024. However, Siraj looked in good touch in the last match against Gujarat TItans at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium with a match-winning spell of 2/29. Now, Siraj will be looking to take down Shashank in the upcoming match at Dharamsala

Now he will be looking to continue his form against PBKS at Dharamsala. However, one of the PBKS bowlers against whom he will be looking to save his wicket will be Harshal Patel. The right-arm pacer troubled the RCB skipper as Du Plessis had been able to score 11 runs against him in four outings with a strike rate of 64.70. Now Patel will be looking to get rid of him early in the upcoming match.
