Star South African pace bowler Kagiso Rabada will be seen playing for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024. He has been retained by PBKS ahead of the IPL 2024 auction and will be looking to prepare himself for the 2024 T20 World Cup in West Indies and the USA which will take place in a couple of weeks after the completion of the IPL.
Rabada has been a part of IPL since 2017 and has been a consistent performer in the tournament. He has also shown great form in the recently ended ICC Cricket World Cup in India where he finished with 13 scalps from nine matches at an average of 28.00 and an economy of 4.99, and played a crucial role for South Africa to get into the semi-final. Kagiso Rabada made his IPL debut in 2017 after Delhi Daredevils (now known as Delhi Capitals) bought him for ₹5 crore in the auction. He was a part of DC for four years and finished as the leading wicket-taker in IPL 2020. Rabada took 30 wickets in 17 matches in IPL 2020 at an average of 18.26 and an economy rate of 8.34. He played a pivotal role for DC to qualify for their first-ever IPL final in 2020. In 2022, Punjab Kings acquired the services of Rabada for INR 9.25 crore in the auction.
