Gujarat Titans (GT) are looking promising in IPL 2024 under new skipper Shubman Gill, who took over the charge after the former skipper Hardik Pandya was traded to Mumbai Indians (MI). In their first match of the season against MI at Narendra Modi Stadium on 24th March, GT bowlers did a tremendous job in death overs and defeated MI by 6 runs defending a total of 168 runs. However, they couldn’t continue their winning run when faced Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk in their second match of the season and suffered a big defeat by 63 runs. The Ahmedabad-based franchise got back on their winning track after traveling to their home ground in Ahmedabad and defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets on 31st March. GT currently stand in the fourth position in the points table with two wins from three matches.
On the other side, Punjab Kings (PBKS) had a convincing start to the season where they defeated Delhi Capitals by 4 wickets at their new home ground Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur in their first match of IPL 2024 on 23rd March. However, they went on to lose their next two matches consecutively against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Lucknow Supergiants at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and Ekana Cricket Stadium respectively. Now they will be facing Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 4th April.
