Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and the BCCI Chief selector Ajit Agarkar addressed the media in Mumbai a couple of days after the announcement of the Indian squad for the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup starting on 2nd June in West Indies and the USA. During the press conference, Rohit and Agarkar gave answers to different queries related to Indian squad for the mega event next month.
During the conference, Rohit was asked about the strike rate of Virat Kohli, who is among India’s main batters for the T20 World Cup. The Indian skipper just ignored the question by laughing. In recent times, there has been a lot of debate regarding Kohli’s strike rate in T20Is in the ongoing season of the IPL. Kohli is currently the second-highest run getter of the tournament with 507 runs with a strike rate of 147.49. However, many experts and fans believe that his strike rate is not enough in modern-day T20I, where we see high -scoring clashed in the ongoing IPL season.

Kohli is a part of the India’s squad for the T20 World Cup and will be one of the main batters for Men in Blue in the upcoming tournament. Ajit Agarkar also mentioned about Kohli stating that they haven’t discussed about his strike rate and there is no point overthinking. “We haven’t been discussing Virat Kohli’s strike rate at all. He has been performing really well in the IPL, no point overthinking” Agarkar said at Press Conference.
