After dominating the whole tournament with 10 straight wins, the two-time champions India are all set to take on the five-time champions Australia for the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 19th November. Both teams will lock horns in a World Cup after 20 years and India will be looking to avenge the 2003 World Cup loss against the Aussies and clinch the trophy for the third time that too in front of their home crowd.
India have shown clinical performances with both bat and ball throughout the tournament and have won one-sided contests against other teams. Now the main focus of the Indian team is to clear the last hurdle and emerge as World Champions. For that, every player has to deliver their best in all three aspects of the game.
When it comes to delivering all-round performances, including batting, bowling and fielding, the first name that comes to the mind of Indian fans is Ravindra Jadeja. The bowling all-rounder has been a pivotal player for India in this tournament as he didn’t only take wickets in the middle overs with the ball, but also scored crucial runs with the bat in a few games. Apart from this, he also delivers his best performance while fielding and never leaves the ball when it comes in his way. Coming to bat at number 7, Jadeja’s main role has been to score quick runs in the last few overs and take the team to a good total, and he was seen doing the against Sri Lanka and South Africa respectively. He also built a match-winning partnership with Virat Kohli in a league match against New Zealand after India lost 5 wickets for 191 runs while chasing a target of 274 runs.
Talking about his bowling, Jadeja has been a constant wicket-taker for India in the World Cup and is providing big breakthroughs in the middle overs. However, he was looking out of touch in the semi-final against New Zealand in Mumbai, where he went wicketless after conceding 63 runs in his 10 overs. Now the 34-year-old will be looking deliver another match-winning performance for one last time in the tournament and help India to clinch the World Cup title.
