Royal Challengers Bengaluru locked horns with Punjab Kings in match no. 58 of the TATA IPL 2024 at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on Thursday. And it was a dominating win for RCB in the game. They won only one game out of 8 in the first half of the tournament, and now they have won four in a row.
However, with a defeat, PBKS was eliminated from the competition and became the second team to get eliminated after Mumbai Indians. The game started with PBKS winning the toss and deciding to bowl first. RCB lost Faf du Plessis and Will Jacks within the powerplay.

Chasing the score, PBKS kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Rilee Rossouw scored a quick fifty off 21 balls, which gave them hope. Jonny Bairstow (27 off 17) and Shashank Singh (37 off 19) also showed some fight, but it was too big of a target to chase.
Eventually, PBKS finished with 181 all out in 17 overs, and RCB won the game by 60 runs. This win helped RCB jump to 7th place on the table. Though their qualification is still a dream but anything can be possible. So they need to keep up the momentum and hope for the best.

This game saw some brilliant individual performances, but it was Virat Kohli who had multiple brilliant moments in the game. He scored 92 off 47 runs at a strike rate of 195.74. Then, he also ran out Shashank Singh and collected extra fantasy points. In total, he collected 141 points to win the Fantasy Player of the Match award.
