The defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have announced Etihad Airways as their official sponsor ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024. The announcement of the official agreement between two parties was made during a grand ceremony at Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai on 8th February, 2024.
To make the event more special, CSK used the skipper MS Dhoni’s number 7 jersey to announce the collaboration with Etihad on the big screen. In the given video, you can see the number 7 jersey flashing on the big screen with Etihad Airways written at the top.
Arik De, the Chief Revenue Officer of the Etihad Airways, shared his insights at the event after collaborating with the five-time champions CSK and stated that this partnership will go beyond sponsorship. The airline company from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is also the sponsor of Manchester City F.C in the Premier League Football.
“Today marks the start of an extraordinary journey as we welcome the Chennai Super Kings to our sports portfolio. Cricket’s global resonance unites diverse communities, reflecting the shared values of Etihad and Chennai Super Kings,” Arik De was quoted as saying by Khaleej Times.
“Our collaboration goes beyond sponsorship; it’s a celebration of a shared ethos, a testament to the collective spirit of Etihad and the Chennai Super Kings… We anticipate not only creating unforgettable moments for fans and travellers but also forging a powerful connection that transcends boundaries and elevates the spirit of the game to new heights,” he further added.
CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan also enlightened the event with his words. He said, “The Etihad – Chennai Super Kings partnership promises to deliver a series of exciting initiatives, engaging activations, and unique fan experiences throughout the cricketing season.
