1. Lasith Malinga (19 three wicket hauls in IPL)
The veteran Sri Lankan bowler Lasith Malinga has taken the most number of three wicket hauls in the history of the IPL. Lasith Malinga has taken 19 three wicket hauls in the Indian Premier League, which is the most by any player in the tournament.
Lasith Malinga is one of the few players who have played from only one franchise in their IPL career. Malinga represented Mumbai Indians from 2008-17; 2019-20. In the 122 outings for the five-time title winners, Malinga took 170 wickets, 19 three wicket hauls, 6 four wicket hauls, and a five-wicket haul. Undoubtedly, Malinga has left behind an unbeaten streak and legacy in the IPL.
2. Amit Mishra (16 three wicket hauls in IPL)
Amit Mishra is one of the most underrated Indian bowlers who has excelled in the IPL. The spinner has represented Delhi Daredevils (now known as Delhi Capitals) for the majority of his IPL Career. Amit Mishra has taken 16 three wicket hauls in the IPL, which is the most by an Indian bowler in the tournament.
Amit Mishra has played 161 matches in the IPL and has dismissed 173 batsmen. The 41 year old spinner will represent Lucknow Super Giants in the upcoming season of the IPL 2024.
3. Jasprit Bumrah (14 three wicket hauls in IPL)
India’s most celebrated pacer Jasprit Bumrah has also made it to the list of the bowlers who have taken the most number of three wicket hauls in the IPL. Bumrah has represented Mumbai Indians since the beginning of his career in the IPL and has consistently delivered the desired performances with his toe-crushing yorkers.
Jasprit Bumrah has taken 14 three wicket hauls in his active career in the IPL. Bumrah has played 120 matches in the IPL and has dismissed 145 batsmen. The young pacer will gear up once again in the blue jersey for IPL 2024.
4. Ashish Nehra (14 three wicket hauls in IPL)
Ashish Nehra has been one of the wicked bowlers in the IPL who has had the ability to trap the bowlers with his sharp line and length. After playing for numerous franchises in the championship like Delhi Daredevils, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Chennai Super Kings, Nehra has registered 14 three wicket hauls in the IPL.
In the 88 matches Ashish Nehra has played in the IPL, the pacer has dismissed 106 batsmen. Nehra registered his first four wicket haul in the IPL against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2015.
5. Umesh Yadav (14 three wicket hauls in IPL)
Umesh Yadav has been an integral member of various IPL Team camps and has time and again proven his abilities in the tournament. Along with Jasprit Bumrah and Ashish Nehra, Umesh Yadav has jointly registered 14 three wicket hauls in the IPL.
In the 141 matches Umesh Yadav has played in the IPL, the 36 year old has taken 136 wickets for multiple team franchises like Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Indian pacer Umesh Yadav was recently bought by Gujarat Titans for the upcoming IPL 2024 at a whopping price of INR 5.80 Crores which happens to be the highest price he has received in his career in the IPL.
