Match No. 55 of the TATA IPL 2024 is currently underway at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The five-time champion Mumbai Indians are taking on the 2016-winning Sunrisers Hyderabad. The game started with MI winning the toss and deciding to bowl first. SRH had a good start, and both openers added 56 runs for the first wicket.
Jasprit Bumrah provided MI with the first breakthrough, which opened the floodgate, and SRH kept losing wickets. But in the middle overs, veteran Indian spinner Piyush Chawla restricted the SRH batters from scoring runs and also took important wickets. His spell of four overs changed the game’s situation towards MI.
MI vs SRH: Piyush Chawla dismissed Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen to give an edge to MI
Piyush Chawla came out to bowl just after the powerplay. His first wicket was dangerous Travis Head, who was going pretty well. Chawla dismissed him on the third ball of the 11 overs. Head scored 48 off 30 balls before getting going. After that, he didn’t stop because there was the wicket of Heinrich Klaasen. But Chawla made sure that he was not letting him get going.
Chawla dismissed Klaasen on the first ball of the 13th over to take his second wicket. Klaasen only scored a 4-ball 2. The veteran spinner then came out to bowl his last over, which was the 17th over of the first inning. On his last ball of the over, he dismissed Abdul Samad, who scored 3 off 4 balls.
