After that, Venkatesh Iyer managed the innings and played a good cameo with the bat. Nitish Rana, who was making his comeback, scored 33 off 23 balls. Andre Russell (24 off 14), Rinku Singh (20 off 12), and Ramandeep Singh (17* off 8) played some useful cameos.
KKR reached a fighting score of 157/7. Jasprit Bumrah (2/39) and Piyush Chawla (2/28) picked up two wickets each for MI. Chasing the score, MI had a 65-run opening stand, but Rohit Sharma struggled for his 24-ball 19 runs. Ishan Kishan played well for his 40 off 22.
But after that, MI couldn’t add any partnerships and kept losing wickets. They needed 22 runs in the final overs, and they fell short by 18 runs to lose yet another game. This win helped KKR qualify for the playoffs, and MI is at the bottom of the table.
