1. PBKS vs RCB IPL 2022 Match – 208

The Punjab Kings chased its highest target, beating the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2022 season. The RCB batter Faf du Plessis contributed to the 205/2 target with his 88 runs off 57 balls including 7 sixes and 3 fours. The RCB gave a target of 206 to the Punjab teams.

In response to that massive target, Punjab Kings Shikhar Dhawan (43), Bhanuka Rajapaksa (43), and Mayank Agarwal (32) all played an important part. The PBKS scored 208 runs on falls of five-wicket in 19 overs. The PBKS made history with their highest run-chase victory over RCB at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai.   

2. PBKS vs SRH IPL 2014 Match – 211

In the 2014 IPL season, Punjab Kings pulled off 206 targets by the Sunrisers Hyderabad, scored 211/4, and secured another highest run chase in IPL history. At that time it was PBKS’s second 200-plus highest total chased successfully. The Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a massive 205 with the help of Naman Ojha (79), Shikhar Dhawan (45), and David Warner (44). 

However, Punjab Kings (formerly known as Kings Xi Punjab) achieved the 206 target easily. And all the credit goes to its batters Manan Vohra (47), Wriddhiman Saha (54), and Glenn Maxwell (43) for memorable performances at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. The PBKS defeated an SRH and won by 6 wickets.  

3. PBKS vs CSK IPL 2014 Match – 206

 In the IPL 2014, once again Punjab Kings had successfully achieved the 205 runs highest run chase. This time IPL champion Chennai Super Kings gave a tough time to Punjab Kings. The CSK opening batters Dwayne Smith (66) and Brendon McCullum (67) partnership of 100+ scores.

When Punjab lost its opening batter, Glenn Maxwell took matters into his own hands and scored a huge 95 runs off 43 balls including 15 boundaries and 2 sixes. South African batter David Miller‘s 54 runs in 37 balls was also a great contribution to achieving the target. The Punjab Kings won the match by 6 wickets at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. 

4. PBKS vs KKR IPL 2010 Match – 204

Fourth highest run chase by the Punjab Kings in the IPL is against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2010 season. The Knight Riders’ Chris Gayle bagged 88 runs off 42 balls and smashed 8 sixes and 6 fours. Chris Gayle’s impressive scores powered KKR to 200 for three against Kings XI Punjab. 

But PBKS opening batsman Mahela Jayawardene hit a massive ton and scored 110 in 59 balls including 14 fours and 3 sixes. The Punjab team successfully achieved the target and scored 204/2 in just 18.2 overs. The PBKS clinched the target from the KKR’s jaw and won the match by 8 wickets at Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata. 

5. PBKS vs CSK IPL 2023 Match – 201

The Punjab Kings 5th highest run chase is against the Chennai Super Kings in the 2023 IPL season. When CSK’s batter Devon Conway smashed 16 fours and a six during his 52-ball unbeaten 92. It was unthinkable that PBKS would achieve the target. But the Punjab team crossed the 200-plus target on the last ball when Sikandar Raza hit a 6 in 20 overs. 

Thanks to Punjab’s batters opener Prabhsimran Singh top-scored for PBKS with 42 off 24 balls while Liam Livingstone made 40. The Punjab Kings once again defeated Chennai in the highest run chase and won the match by 4 wickets at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
