The TATA IPL 2024 has been giving some brilliant games, but not many games can match the intensity that the SRH vs RR clash had on Thursday. These two teams met in match no. 50 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, and both reached 200 runs in their respective innings.
But in the end, it was Sunrisers Hyderabad that held the nerves and pulled off one of the closest wins ever by a margin of just one run. Batting first, SRH ended up scoring a total of 201 runs with the help of half-centuries from Travis Head (58) and Nitish Reddy (76*). Heinrich Klaasen also played a brilliant cameo with 42 unbeaten runs.
Chasing the target, Rajasthan Royals got off to a horrible start. Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismisses Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson for ducks in the first over. But after that, Yashasvi Jaiswal (67 off 40) and Riyan Parag (77 off 49) added a 133-run partnership for the third wicket to put RR on top.
But SRH went things back in the final overs. RR needed 27 runs in the last three overs with six wickets in hand. The equation came down to two runs to win on the last ball. But Bhuvi bowled a low full toss to dismiss Rovman Powell, and SRH won by just one run. With this win, SRH jumped to fourth place on the table.
Let’s take a look at the award winners of this nail-biting match.
