1. Chris Gayle
The Universe Boss once again tops the record list of the IPL; this one is the fastest at 3000 runs. Chris Gayle achieved this landmark in just 75 IPL innings. A left-handed destructive batter from Jamaica crossed the 3000-run mark on May 6, 2015, against Kings XI Punjab at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. Gayle is known for his power-hitting ability, and he proved that once again on that day when he smashed a blasting century and made 117 from just 57 bowls. Gayle registered 12 maximum with 7 boundaries, and Royal Challengers Bangalore put up a massive total of 226. Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), in reply, scored only 88, and RCB won by 138 runs. Gayle chose a day to reach the milestone with 100 and also received the player of the match award for his remarkable knock.
2. KL Rahul
KL Rahul is the fastest Indian batter to reach 3,000 runs in the Indian Premier League. Rahul took just 80 innings to achieve this landmark. On September 21, 2021, at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai against the Rajasthan Royals, Rahul achieved this record. Rahul managed to score 49 from 32 balls with the help of four boundaries and two sixes. Unfortunately, Kings XI lost that match due to the outstanding death bowling of Karthik Tyagi.
The consistency of KL Rahul in the IPL is unbelievable. Rahul took only 20 innings to move from 2000 runs to 3000 runs and become the fastest Indian batter to do that.
3. Jos Buttler
The white ball superstar from England proved his name in the world’s best T20 league. The wicketkeeper batter registered 3000 IPL runs in just 85 innings and became the third fastest player to achieve that. Representing the Rajasthan Royals against the Chennai Super Kings at the Ma. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, Buttler made a half-century and touched the landmark. Buttler scored 52 from 36 balls with 1 boundary and 3 sixes. Later on Rajasthan Royals managed to defeat Chennai Super Kings by 3 runs margin.
Notably, Jos Buttler scored the highest number of runs in the 2022 season of Indian Premier League and helped his team RR to play in the Final. Buttler was among the top and most consistent scorers for his team and played a huge role in team success in the past few years.
4. David Warner
Among the most consistent overseas batters of the Indian Premier League, David Warner is at 4th place on the list of the fastest 3000 runs. Warner played for 2 franchises in the IPL, starting with Delhi Daredevils, then moved to Sunrisers Hyderabad, currently back in the Delhi Capitals. Warner played 94 innings to get 3000 runs in the Indian Premier League. On 12th may 2016 playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad on the Home ground of SRH, Rajiv Gandhi Stadium Hyderabad against Delhi Warner achieved this. Warner managed to put 46 runs from 30 balls on the scoreboard with his name, including six boundaries and one maximum. SRH lost that match against Delhi but due to Warner’s batting performances and supreme leadership, Sunrisers Hyderabad won their first ever Indian Premier League title in that year.
5. Faf du plessis
First time Faf du plessis wearing red and gold and leading Royal Challengers Bangalore on 27 March 2022 at Dy Patil Stadium, Mumbai against Punjab Kings. Faf produced a brilliant debut inning by scoring 88 from 57 balls with three fours and seven maximum hits. Unfortunately, the Punjab Kings won the match with six balls in hand. In that 88-run knock, Faf completed his 3000 runs in the IPL by playing the same as David Warner’s 94 innings. Faf du Plessis surpassed Mr. IPL Suresh Raina, becoming the fifth fastest 3000 run scorer.
