The last time both teams met at this ground on 18th May, 2023, Virat Kohli came up with his sixth IPL hundred as RCB defeated the hosts by 8 wickets. Batting first, SRH posted 186/5 with the help of Heinrich Klaasen’s maiden IPL hundred. The right-hander smashed 104 runs off 51 balls with eight fours and six sixes. In reply, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli put up a opening partnership of 172 runs in 17.5 overs with Kohli getting out after scoring 100 runs off 63 balls. Du Plessis also went back to the pavilion in the next over after scoring 71 runs off 47 balls. In the end, Glenn Maxwell and Michael Bracewell scored the winning runs for RCB as they chased the winning total in 19.2 overs losing wickets.
