After losing six consecutive matches in the first half, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) made a strong comeback in the second half with four straight victories in the last four games and are still in the playoffs race of IPL 2024. Standing in the seventh position at the points table, RCB have won five out of 12 matches and need to win the remaining two games as well to keep their hopes alive for the final top four. Star RCB batter Virat Kohli is in a top notch form this year and is ruling the Orange Cap leaderboard with 634 runs from 12 matches at an average of 70.44. The opening batter shown his beast mode with fiery 92 runs off just 47 balls in the last match against Punjab Kings at Dharamsala. He has also shown good form against the spinner this year with 261 runs with a strike rate of 138.82. The DC bowler who could trouble him in the upcoming match will be Axar Patel. The left-arm spinner doesn’t allow Kohli to play freely as the RCB batter has scored just 78 runs in 11 innings against him with a strike rate of 109.85, while Axar has dismissed him once in the IPL.
2. Rajat Patidar vs Kuldeep Yadav
Rajat Patidar has been a saviour for RCB middle order this year with 268 runs with a strike rate 183.56. He stood up everytime when the team lost early wickets and has smashed four half-centuries, with all four coming with a strike rate of around 200. He will be the key player for RCB in the upcoming match especially during middle overs as the right-hander boasts a strike rate of 256 against the spinners. For him, DC will look up to Kuldeep Yadav to get rid off Patidar early and put more pressure for RCB in the middle overs.
