Former West Indies star batter Chris Gayle has the record for 17 most sixes in the IPL innings. Chris Gayle slammed 17 sixes and bagged 175* runs for Royal Challengers Banglore against Pune Warriors in the 2013 IPL season.
Brendon McCullum comes next on the list with 13 sixes in one IPL inning. Brendon McCullum bagged 158 runs and hit 13 sixes for Kolkata Night Riders against Royal Challengers Banglore in the 2008 IPL inaugural season.
The next player is Chris Gayle. Once again RCB star batter Gayle topped the most sixes in the IPL innings with 13 sixes against Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in the 2012 IPL season.
Chris Gayle is the only player who is dominating the top ten most sixes in IPL innings not only twice but four times. Chris Gayle has also a 12 sixes record (117 runs against the Panjab franchise in 2015) and an 11 sixes record (104 runs against Sunriser Hyderabad in 2018) for most sixes in the IPL innings.
Murali Vijay is the only Indian cricketer with 11 sixes in the most sixes in IPL innings top ten list. Murali Vijay bagged 127 runs for Chennai Super Kings against Rajasthan Royals in the 2010 IPL season.
