Batting average is one of the oldest methods of calculating a batsman’s performance based on his average runs scored per inning.
To calculate the batting average, the total number of runs scored by the batter is divided by the number of times a batter was dismissed. A higher batting average signifies an excellent batter which is not always the case in cricket. But a good average batting score can make a big difference.
IPL is based on the shortest T-20 format cricket format and anything between 35 and 40 is considered as a good batting average score. Anything above 40.00 is an excellent batting average.
