Rajasthan Royals (RR) are the first team that have got their hands on the IPL trophy. They defeated Chennai Super Kings in the final of the inaugural edition of the IPL in 2008 to lift the title for the first time. Since then, RR took 14 years to get qualified for their second IPL final. They made it into the title clash in IPL 2022, where Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated them by 7 wickets to lift the title in their maiden IPL season.

GT come out victorious against RR at their home ground by 9 wickets. Batting first, RR were bowled out for just 118 runs in 17.5 overs. Rashid Khan was a start with the ball taking 3 wickets by conceding just 14 runs in four overs. In reply, GT chased the winning total in 13.5 overs losing 1 wicket with Wridhhiman Saha top scoring with an unbeaten 41 runs off 34 balls, while Hardik Pandya remained unbeaten on 39 runs off 15 balls.

Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans have played two matches against each other at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which is the home ground of GT. The first match between both teams at this ground was the final of IPL 2022 on 29th May. GT, who were playing final in their maiden IPL season, defeated RR by 7 wickets in the title clash to lift their the IPL trophy in first attempt.
