HPCA Dharamshala Stadium Test Records & Stats: After a series-clinching victory in Ranchi, the Indian team is all set to take on England for the fifth and the final Test match of the series at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamshala starting on 7th March. The hosts will be looking to end the Test series on a high note with another win in Dharamshala and get ahead in the 2023-25 World Test Championship points table. There have been some memorable performances in Ranchi with both bat and ball due to which India hammered England by 5 wickets even after trailing by 46 runs in the first innings. 

Replying to England’s 353 runs in the first innings, India were 7 wickets down for 177 runs and the three Lions were looking set for a big lead against hosts. After that, Dhruv Jurel, who was only playing his second Test, rescued India by playing knock of 90 runs off 149 balls and put up a 76-run partnership with Kuldeep Yadav as India made 307 runs in the first innings and avoided a big trial. After that, Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav took charge with the ball taking 5 wickets and 4 wickets respectively as England were bowled out for 145 runs in the second innings. Chasing a target of 192 runs, Shubman Gill played his part with an unbeaten 52 runs off 124, along with Jurel who remained unbeaten with 39-run knock as India clinched the fourth Test to take an assailable 3-1 lead in a five-match series with one game to go. 

India, who were playing without their main players like Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, gave chances to the youngsters who have played a crucial role in a historic series win against a strong England team. Now, the hosts will be looking to wrap up the series by 4-1 with another win in Dharamshala.

HPCA is an international cricket stadium located in Dharamshala City, Himachal Pradesh.  It is also the headquarters of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association, which governs all the cricket affairs in the state. In the initial years, the stadium was only limited to hosting domestic matches but gradually moved to international matches as well. The first and only Test match played at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala was played from 25th to 28th March in 2017. After opting to bat first in the series decider, Australia posted 300 runs in their first innings with then skipper Steve Smith scoring a hundred. In reply India scored 332 runs in their first over, powered by the half-centuries by KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravindra Jadeja. In the second innings, Australia were bowled for just 137 runs giving India a target of mere 106 runs to win. In reply, India chased the winning total in 23.5 over losing 2 wickets with KL Rahul scoring another half-century and the skipper Ajinkya Rahane remaining unbeaten on 38 runs.
