Naveen-ul-Haq is a fast bowler from Afghanistan who plays for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 24-year-old has taken retirement from the ODI format after the 2023 Cricket World Cup, and will now only focus on T20Is and franchise cricket.
Naveen had a decent outing in his debut IPL season in 2023 where he took 11 scalps from eight matches he played in that season. He has featured in 15 ODIs and 27 T20Is for Afghanistan so far. Naveen’s decision of early retirement came as a shock for the fans but it also means that he will now completely focus on the T20Is and franchise cricket.
