SRH Highest Score in IPL: Sunrisers Hyderabad have posted the highest ever IPL total as they smashed 277/3 in the ongoing IPL 2024 fixture against Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Batting first, Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen shown no mercy to MI bowlers as SRH crossed the 270-run mark for the first time in IPL history. With this SRH have also surpassed Royal Challengers Bengaluru total of 263/5 after 11 years.
Talking about the match, MI skipper Hardik Pandya chose to bowl after winning the toss. However, MI bowlers couldn’t take the advantage of this decision. Travis Head, who was playing his first for SRH, smashed the fastest half-century of IPL as he reached the 50-run mark in just 18 deliveries. Head got out after smashing 62 runs off 24 ball hitting nine fours and three maximus. However, his record of fastest half century of the season couldn’t stay for long as Abhishek Sharma reached the 50-run mark in just 16 balls getting his name first in the list. Abhishek got out after scoring 63 off 23 ball smashing three fours and seven sixes.
After that, it Heinrich Klaasen and Aiden Markram show as the pair put up an unbeaten partnership of 116 runs in just 54 balls and guided SRH to the highest ever IPL total. Klaasen smashed an unbeaten 80 runs off 34 balls with four fours and seven sixes. While Markram scored 42 runs off 28 balls.
Before SRH, RCB holded the record of Highest ever IPL total as they posted 263/5 against Pune Warriors India at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on 23rd April, 2013. Chris Gayle was the hero of that match smashing 175 runs off just 60 balls, which is still the highest IPL individual score of all time. The record was almost touched by Lucknow Supergiants as they posted 257/5 against Punjab Kings at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium on 28th April, 2023
