Gujarat Titans (GT) will host the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in match number 59 of IPL 2024 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 10th May. It is the same ground where CSK defeated GT in a thrilling final last year to lift their fifth title and become the joint-most successful in the IPL history so far. Now both teams are set to lock horns for the second time in the ongoing season. In the previous match between both teams at M.A Chidambaram Stadium, CSK registered a comprehensive win over GT by 63 runs. Now, Shubman Gill and his men will be looking to avenge the previous defeat against CSK and get their fifth win of the season.
After finishing at the top of the table in the previous two seasons, GT have been struggling in the IPL 2024, and are standing in the last spot at the points table, with just four wins in 11 matches so far. Now, Shubman Gill and his men are in do-or-die situation in the ongoing season and have to win every game from here to finish with 14 points after the league stage. On the other hand, CSK are also going with ups and downs this season, and are currently at the top four in the points table. Now the defending champions will be looking to win their remaining three matches and confirm their qualification in the knockout stages.
