The last time both teams met at this ground was on 11th April, 2023, where MI defeated the hosts in a last-ball thriller by 6 wickets. Batting first, DC were bowled out for 172 runs in 19.4 overs, with the help of half-centuries by David Warner (51 off 47) and Axar Patel (54 off 25). In reply, MI skipper top scored with 65 runs off 45 balls, along with Tilak Varma taking charge in the middle overs with 41 runs off 29 balls.
