DC vs LSG: Match no. 64 of the TATA IPL 2024 took place at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. It was played between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants, which was an important match for both teams. But in the end, it was DC that won the game by 19 runs, and it is sad to say that this defeat has certainly ended the chances of both teams.
The game started with KL Rahul winning the toss and deciding to bowl first. LSG did well to dismiss Jake Fraser McGurk for a duck, but then Abhishek Porel and Shai Hope added 92 runs for the second wicket in just 8.1 overs. Porel struck a 21-ball fifty and kept attacking the bowlers.
DC lost the way in the middle and lost a few quick wickets. But in the end, Tristan Stubbs provided them with a much-needed finish with a blistering fifty. DC ended up with a decent score of 208/4. Chasing the score, LSG had a horrible start, and they were 44/4 in 4.1 overs.
Early wickets pushed them away from the chase. Nicholas Pooran and Arshad Khan slammed a fighting half-centuries, but LSG fell short of the target by just 19 runs and made 189/9. This win gave DC two important points, but their NRR is so bad that they can’t qualify, and the same is true for LSG.
