The defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are set to host the unbeaten Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match number 74 of IPL 2024 at M.A Chidambaram Stadium or Chepauk Stadium on 26th May. SRH had a great start to the season as they ended up winning their first two home matches against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans respectively. However, they lost the winning momentum in the next two away matches and lost to Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad respectively. On the other hand, KKR are currently at the top of the points table with three back-to-back wins from three matches so far. In their last game against Delhi Capitals in Vizag, KKR, posted mammoth 272/7 in their 20 overs which is also the second highest team total in IPL history
One of the batters who laid the foundation for a big total along with Sunil Narine and Angkrish Raghuvanshi was Andre Russell. The Caribbean batter smashed 41 runs off just 19 balls, hitting four fours and three sixes as KKR crossed the 270-run mark for the second time in IPL history. Now, Andre Russell will be looking to repeat the same form against SRH at their own den at Chepauk. The right-hander also have a great record while batting at this ground in the IPL. With an average of 41 and a strike rate of 149.64, Russell has amassed 205 runs from eight IPL matches he played at Chepauk. His highest IPL score also came at this ground where he smashed an unbeaten 88 runs off 36 balls against CSK on 10th April, 2018.
